Borsa Mediterranea del Turismo Archeologico
Necessity of increasing the tourist supply (mainly referring to the
attraction of Cultural Heritage) finds - expecially in the South, plenty
of difficulties in becaming really operating models.
The local government of the Salerno Province - where a very rich
patrimony is preserved - strongly wanted to institute the Mediterranean
Stock Exchange of Archeological Tourism, which will take place in its
first edition in Paestum from 12th to 14th November 1998.
This event intends to make possible the convergence between tourist
demand and supply, aspiring to put the accent on the archeological
attractions of the Mediterranean Basin.
The articolation of the event is quite wide:
Public Tourist Boards, Italian and foreign tour operetors, Tourist
agency, Hotel Structures, will be given hospitality in the exposition
area.
Furthermore workshops where to negotiate are provided while the
Salerno's University Department of Analysis of the Cultural Components
of the Territory together with the Archeological Superintendence of
Salerno and the European University Centre for the Arts and the
Enviroment of Ravello will attend to the actualization of lectures and
seminars where very high qualified superintendendets, Museum Managers
and Professor will be present.
Final aim of the Mediterranean Exchange ofArcheological Tourism ,so, is
to provide a common meeting-point for the operetors of the Tourist Field
(at the moment in extensive development) in order to involve in the very
next future an increasing number of clients.
