The Province of Salerno organizes the Fifth Fair of the
Mediterranean Archaeological Tourism that will take place in the
Congress Center Ariston of Paestum (Salerno), from Thursday the 8th to
Sunday the 10th of November 2002.
The manifestation is becoming more and more important expecially
among the " the authorized persons", among the International Scientific
Authority, and in the world of Information.Last November, on an area of
approximately 10.000 mq, there were 150 exhibitors (in representation of
6 foreign countries, 13 Italian Regions, 30 Provinces, 60 Communes).They
met about 14.000 visitors, and there had been 35 Conferences and
Seminars.
There is always the Workshop: during last edition there were the tour
operators,chosen by the ENIT among those interested in the archeological
tourism coming from Austria, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Japan,
Holland, Portugal, Great Britain, Scandinavia, Spain, Usa, Switzerland.
Over 1.500.000 visited the web site: www.borsaturismo.com.
The Fair has a peculiarity because it promotes the meeting between the
supply and the offer in the archaeological field of tourism. Moreover,
it constitutes a showcase for many Mediterranean destinations.
The Fair constitutes also an important occasion for improving the
knowledge of the archeological heritage through conferences and
seminaries, held by important people , in collaboration with important
institionanl partners.Visitors can directly try the working of stones,
metals,potteries and learn pictorial technique through teaching
laboratories.
The Fair offers, therefore, the following opportunities:
- Showrooms;
- Possibility to attend the workshop session of Saturday 10 th November;
- Admission to Conferences and Seminars;
- Free possibility to make excursions to archeological places;
- Possibility to attend to the rich social program:
- Cocktail of welcome, thematic evenings, Gala Dinner in the
Archaeological Museum;
- Facilities in the hotel charge, and on the railway rates of InterCity
and Eurostar.
